Google X: Makani

Makani is a Google X company working to make clean energy accessible for everyone. They’re developing energy kites, a new wind power technology that can access stronger and steadier winds at higher altitudes to generate more energy with less materials. Postdocs, graduate students or visiting scholars who want to explore career options in clean energy, materials and engineering and have an interest in transitioning new technologies into production. If you are in system engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, aerodynamics, computer science, or materials science, this visit will also represent a great chance for you to directly meet with a local employer, who will be growing and looking for new hires soon. This is also a rare opportunity to visit the previous command tower of the US Navy!
